Scouting was first introduced to the students of Bukit Merah Secondary School in 1969. Over the years, many things have changed but the determination and courage of the Scouts leaders leading the school has never waived or changed. The unit has a current strength of 47 scouts and aim to maintain the membership of our Scout unit by introducing more interesting and exciting activities to enhance our Scouts’ experience in Scouting. From a BMSS Scout “I am proud to be a scout. I have never regretted joining Scouts. Scouts have offered me various skills which I believed not everyone can get the chance to experience. The experience and memories of being a scout will always be in my mind forever.”

NEW TOWN SECONDARY SCHOOL (Click here)

Scouting has been a part of New Town Secondary School since the school’s founding in 1965. Beginning life as the 69 Spider Scouts, the troop was reborn as the Eagles Scout Group in 2002 when it joined forces with the troop from Bukit Merah Secondary School. Scouting in New Town has long been associated with producing young men of good character, high personal integrity and superior self-determination. It is currently enjoys the prestige of being a Silver Standard unit under the Frank Cooper Sands award scheme.

NUS HIGH SCHOOL (Click here)

Though it is the newest member of the 23 Eagles Scout group, the scouts of NUS High have been making waves since they burst onto the scene in 2005. With a strength of around 22 intrepid scouts from Year 1 to Year 6
(Sec 1 – JC 2), the Scouts of NUS find themselves well placed to take advantage of the progressive Scout training program. Every student of NUS High takes on at least two co-curricular activities, speaking well of the commitment displayed by every member of the 23 Eagles Scouts (NUSH).
